Happy Running, Walking, and Falling

Alan and I registered for the Salt Lake 5K last weekend. We were planning on running it but then my Dad started feeling better and registered for the race. We decided to walk with him and we are very glad we did. My sister, Megan, and brother, Chad, along with friends, Pat and Derek Jones, joined us. We were ecstatic to see my Dad healthy enough to be with us. Once again, he did not let us down when he thought it would be funny to RUN over the starting line. Well, he tripped and fell. Yes, at the STARTING line. I love that guy! He popped right up and off we went. We finished the race. Most of us in last place for our division. But we finished together! We had a great time talking and laughing all the way. We were happy to take the boys and they were great for waking at 5:45. It is a great tradition we will continue through the years. Here are some photos of our great day!

Alan's sister ,Jana, and my sister-in-law, Kelli, ran the 1/2 Marathon. Great job gals!

This was on the drive home at 10:00 a.m.

From The Mouth of Carden

We were sitting at lunch and Carden tapped me on the shoulder, "Hey Mom, how are your brackets doing?" Alan almost fell off his chair.

I had to inform him I was in third place but lost big time when UCLA lost. To which he responded, "Hmmm, did the Jazz lose?"
